A new study shows that, despite perceptions to the contrary, the UK is in an extremely competitive position for attracting international film production.

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People (Jeff Bridges)

The research, undertaken by Olsberg SPI for the Office of the British Film Commissioner, compares the cost of filming two hypothetical films (budgeted at approximately $100m and $20m) in ten territories.

The analysis shows that the costs of filming in the UK are competitive when compared with both established production centres and low cost countries.

The work also explores the impact of recent exchange rate movements and shows the UK becoming increasingly financially attractive.
