Insight Out 2008 are seeking short filmmakers, animators and screenwriters who want to learn more about the distribution process, self promotion & marketing their product to the right audiences. Insight Out will offer you advice, professional guidance, networking opportunities, and even a chance to pitch for funding to get your film ready for distribution.
Insight Out begins on 26 September 2008 with a three-day intensive workshop. 5 further workshops will take place between October 2008 & February 2009.
Workshops, which take place at weekends, will cover topics including intellectual property and how to protect it; getting your film seen by the right audience; the benefits of successful collaboration with others; how to make the perfect pitch for your product; making the most of film festivals, and much, much more.
Each workshop will be followed by 'Shorts on Walls', an opportunity for all trainees to screen and discuss their work with each other.
Insight Out, now in its fourth year, was developed by NESTA. The programme is managed by Birmingham City University's Screen Media Lab facility. Our partner is EM Media, the Regional Screen Agency for the East Midlands.
All workshops will take place in Nottingham.
Trainees attending all workshops will receive a travel bursary, up to the value of £150 (depending on distance travelled) and the chance to pitch for a share of £15,000 to get their film ready for distribution. The pitches will take place in March 2009.
